As September rolls in and children across the UK head back to school, parents everywhere are refocusing their attention on routines, homework, packed lunches and most importantly, health and wellness. With the start of the academic year comes an increase in exposure to colds, flu, and other seasonal viruses that often make their way into classrooms, homes and on the school run.
We understand the importance of maintaining a healthy living and school environment, especially during the back-to-school transition. While handwashing, good nutrition, and plenty of sleep are all essential parts of the wellness puzzle, one often-overlooked factor is indoor air quality.
When children return to school, they come into contact with many other pupils each day. This close proximity is a perfect breeding ground for germs. And while schools do their best to manage hygiene, it’s only natural that some of those bugs spread, and follow your children home.
What many families don’t realise is that viruses and bacteria don’t just live on hands and surfaces, they also travel through the air. Poor ventilation can trap airborne pollutants and germs, making it easier for illness to spread among classmates, friends and family members.
Our air purifiers are fitted with a HEPA-13 filter, which serves as the gold standard in filtration technology. These capture and filter pollutants, bacteria, and viruses.
The filters are also designed with our patented DNO (D-Orbital Nano Oxide) catalyst which is able to effectively kill 99.9% of bacteria and viruses the machine filters, alongside breaking down pollutants like NOx, SOx, Formaldehyde and more into harmless substances like CO2 or water.
Air purifiers can capture and destroy:
Viruses and bacteria
Allergens like pollen and pet dander
Mould spores
Dust and other particulate matter
By removing these particles from the air, you’re not just improving overall air quality, you’re also helping to reduce the likelihood of illness spreading between siblings, parents, and caregivers.
Cold and flu season can be especially tough on children with asthma or other respiratory conditions. Polluted indoor air can aggravate symptoms and lead to more frequent flare-ups. Using an air purifier in bedrooms or communal areas can ease respiratory stress by keeping the air clean and irritant-free.
As children adjust to the demands of school life (early mornings, homework, social pressure) it’s essential that their home remains a place of recovery and wellness. Clean air supports better sleep, improved concentration, and stronger immune function, giving kids the best chance to thrive both in and out of the classroom.
Adding an air purifier to your life isn’t just a short-term solution for flu season, it’s a long-term investment in your family’s health.
