Air purifiers and negative ionizers are the golden partners for the health and wellness environment

Health and wellness refers to the combination of “health” and “health preservation”. Health and wellness environment refers to an indoor environment that is pollution-free, pollution-free, sustainable, and conducive to the health of consumers. It means that in the architecture, design and decoration of the indoor environment, it is necessary not only to meet the survival and aesthetic needs of consumers, but also to meet the safety and health needs of consumers. The health and wellness environment is closely related to the physiological and psychological indicators of the human body, and can improve people’s sleep, eliminate fatigue, enhance immunity, and change sub-health status.

The healthcare environment

Health starts with breathing, and health care starts with nourishing the lungs. Keeping the lungs healthy is the most important thing for health care. A good and clean indoor environment is the prerequisite for health care. Air purification products are indispensable equipment in a health care environment.

In a health care environment, clean air is the priority. Air pollution problems related to the health care environment mainly include inhalable particulate matter, microorganisms, formaldehyde, benzene series, TVOC and other pollutants, as well as car exhaust, ozone, acidic gases such as nitrogen dioxide and sulfur dioxide, and pollen that invade from the atmosphere. etc. The health care environment has very high requirements for pollutants and is required to meet the indoor air quality standards of the guidance values issued by the World Health Organization and the American WELL standard. The air quality standards for health care environments are shown in Figure 1.

Figure 1:

Main pollutants Average time Wellness environment
PM2.5 (μg/m³) 24 hours 0
PM 10 (μg/m³) 24 hours 10
Odor (μg/m³) 1 hour 5
Nitrogen dioxide (μg/m³) 1 hour 5
Formaldehyde (mg/m³) 1 hour 0.03
Benzene (mg/m³) 1 hour 0.01
TVOC (mg/m³) 1 hour 0.20
Total bacteria count ( cfu /m³) 200
Odor , odor intensity (dimensionless) 1

In a health care environment, clean air is a prerequisite. The negative ions released in clean air are called clean negative ions, or light negative ions.

Negative ion environment

It is reported that in the United States, negative ion environment is used to help Olympic athletes recover from fatigue after competition and training, and the effect is very good. The negative ion industry found that it did not achieve the expected effect when applying it, and in many cases the concentration of particulate pollutants in the air was too high.

The air quality of the health care environment is required to meet the requirements of Table 1. The negative ions released in such a clean air environment are light negative ions, which can form a stable negative ion field with a certain intensity. Without inhalation, they can act on the human cell dielectric, increase the permeability of the cell membrane, and allow nutrients, water, etc. to enter the cell smoothly for metabolism and convert into energy for human use. The negative ion field formed by clean negative ions can gradually reduce factors such as acidity, oxidation, free radicals, and lactic acid that damage human health, create a good environment inside the living body, activate cell metabolism, create a healthy body, enhance the natural healing ability of the living body, and thus overcome diseases.

Based on years of practice and research experience, we believe that air purifiers and clean negative ions are the golden pair for the health and wellness environment.
